The world of fashion is exciting, fast paced, and creative. This program surveys the fashion industry with emphasis in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and design. Did you ever wonder how the fashion industry works? How designers are inspired to create their clothing lines? What it takes to produce a fashion show?

You will gain practical knowledge creating displays, designing a line of clothing, producing a fashion show, studying the history of fashion and the textile industry. Learn first hand the skills needed to succeed in the business!

Fashion Marketing and Merchandising brings to life the business aspects of the fashion world.  Hi, I’m Susan Rowe, instructor of the Fashion and Merchandising program at Sno-Isle TECH. Fashion is everywhere. Fashion related employment offers limitless options and environments. The Seattle area is set for industry growth with local and international designers and retailers, our location and access to the world through the Port of Seattle, IT Industry support, and excellent educational opportunities in the Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textile career fields.

The Fashion program offers the opportunity to learn various areas of the fashion business. In  a professional setting with like minded classmates, students build displays, create and market businesses and clothing lines, run and promote  embroidery and clothing business, plan and execute special events and fashion shows, as well as visit local industries to gain career focus.

In many of the programs offered at Sno-Isle Tech students have an opportunity to earn college credit at the same time they are earning high school credit. The total registration cost per Sno-Isle Tech program is usually $30 or less (and in many cases is FREE!). Students must complete their Sno-Isle Tech program with a "B" grade or better. It is the student's responsibility to register online or complete a registration packet. Ask your Sno-Isle Tech instructor for details about "Tech Prep".
